NCDOR Publishes Guidelines for Computing the Sales Factor Based on Market-Based Sourcing Principles
Session Law 2015-268 (H.B. 259) required the DOR to publish guidelines for computing the sales factor based on market-based sourcing on or before February 1, 2016. The Department has published two documents to meet this requirement.
The first document, "Introduction and Summary-Guidelines for Market-Based Sourcing" is a summary of market-based sourcing principles and includes tables that provide an easy reference tool for taxpayers.
The second document "Guidelines for Computing the Sales Factor Based on Market-Based Sourcing" is a detailed notice that includes numerous examples intended to assist taxpayers in understanding the provisions of market-based sourcing.
