You received this notice because you requested an installment payment agreement. Your installment payment agreement request met our requirements and has been accepted.

What should I do?

You are not required to respond to this notice. However, you must begin making payments by the first installment date on your notice. For faster processing, pay online. If you can’t pay online, you will receive a reminder notice with a detachable payment coupon before each scheduled payment.

Keep in mind that even once you begin making payments, interest will continue to accrue on the unpaid tax liability.

What are the requirements?

Review our installment payment agreement page for a full list of requirements. While you met the requirements to request an agreement, you must also stay within certain requirements during the term of your agreement. These include:

  • Filing and paying all returns in full
  • Filing and paying estimated income taxes
  • Providing additional information, as needed

What if I can’t make a payment?

If you cannot make a scheduled payment or a payment is returned to us from your bank or financial institution, your agreement will be in default.

You can avoid default by paying online within 10 days. You must make the scheduled payment plus a negative check penalty (10% of the payment amount).

If your agreement goes into default, we may begin forced collection actions immediately. Examples of forced collection actions could include:

  • Deducting 10% of your wages paid before deductions
  • Freezing funds in your bank account
  • Seizing personal or business assets

Why did I get a Notice of Collection?

By law, we are required to send a Notice of Collection for all past due taxes.

Please disregard the notice if it was for past due taxes you are paying as part of this agreement.
